Wheelchair Travelers on Airlines May Get Better 'Air Access'!

Yesterday, we looked at some of the deplorable problems faced by travelers in a wheelchair on airlines . Today, we're happy to bring you some recent developments that just may make your future flights a fabulous experience! After we posted our article on Facebook, a gentleman named Scott commented with the suggestion that authorities should "fine these companies" that don't properly accommodate their passengers with disabilities. They heard you, Scott! It was announced just yesterday that the US Department of Transportation has fined US Airways $1.2 million for failure to provide wheelchair assistance to passengers with disabilities in Philadelphia and Charlotte, NC. Talking About Self-Care: What Helps You Feel Better (Beauty and Otherwise)?

Oh, my goodness , friend! I had a five-hour meeting today, and although it was very interesting (I learned so much about marketing and branding, which was cool), I am SPENT. After my meeting ended, I started thinking about what I wanted to do this evening to give myself some TLC, and this led me to thinking about self-care, and what it means and the different forms it can take. Then, I cover the basics in some form, which usually means… Eating things that make me feel good.  Usually some combination of veggies and/or fruit that isn’t too processed. Drinking lots of water helps, too, as well as not over

Building renovation at district level – Lessons learned from international case studies

Abstract: Renovation at district scale is a key strategy to reduce CO2 emissions by optimising the implementation of renewable energy sources and taking advantage of economy of scale. This paper focuses on analysing good practice examples on energy renovations at district scale. The paper adapts a qualitative research methodology in four phases, including the multi-perspective analysis of nine exemplary renovation projects in six European countries, including identification of drivers and barriers of different stakeholders. It is found that the drivers for a district renovation are not restricted to energy savings, but typically also include improving the overall quality of life as well as the image and economic value of a district. Moreover, the need for financial models that can alleviate split-incentive problems between investors and resident organizations is identified. Barriers for carrying out a district renovation include that there is a need to comply with energy standards, t
